Grameenphone, Bangladesh’s largest mobile operator, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ericsson to collaborate on advancing AI and automation in the telecommunications sector. The partnership, formalized during Innovate Asia 2024, will focus on deploying cutting-edge AI and automation solutions through technology trials, workshops, and pilot projects. The collaboration aims to enhance customer experience, foster growth, and maintain Grameenphone’s leadership in the telecom sector, with external collaborations involving regulators and industry partners.
The MoU marks the next step in a partnership between Grameenphone and Ericsson that began in 1998. As Bangladesh embraces a digital-first approach, the partnership aligns with the country’s broader goals for digital transformation. Grameenphone’s Chief Information Officer emphasized that the collaboration will leverage AI to deliver superior services, while Ericsson’s expertise will help the operator meet the evolving needs of its customers in an increasingly complex network environment.
