Bangladesh’s top mobile operators, Grameenphone and Robi, have secured additional spectrum to enhance their network services. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission approved the allocation of 20 MHz spectrum each to the operators for Tk 1,160 crore. While this will improve network speed, capacity, and coverage, the operators raised concerns about the shortage of number series, which could hinder growth. The spectrum acquisition was delayed due to disagreements over pricing but ultimately resolved in favor of the operators.
