GP Launches Bangladesh’s First Fixed Wireless Broadband

Grameenphone has launched Bangladesh’s inaugural fixed wireless broadband service, “gpfi,” under a unified business license. The service utilizes modern Wi-Fi routers connected wirelessly to Grameenphone towers, offering high-speed internet for homes, offices, and businesses nationwide. Two Huawei-manufactured routers are available: one supports up to 10 devices for Tk4,000, and the other up to 30 devices for Tk7,500. gpfi features three unlimited monthly packages: Tk1,000 for 25Mbps, Tk1,300 for 30Mbps, and Tk1,900 for 40Mbps, all including 2-5 OTT subscriptions. The service aims to empower users across Bangladesh, ensuring seamless connectivity and supporting digital inclusion in education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. Grameenphone, serving over 8 crore users, aims to bridge the digital divide by expanding reliable broadband access, particularly in underserved areas lacking cable infrastructure.
