In the third quarter of 2023, Bangladesh’s telecom companies experienced varying financial performances. Grameenphone witnessed a 17.68% YoY decrease in net profits, attributing the decline to higher operating costs and government taxes. The company’s EPS dropped from Tk 6.72 to Tk 5.53, with a net profit of Tk 747 crore compared to Tk 907 crore YoY during the same period in 2022.
Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd. (BSCCL) reported a 10.39% decline in net profit, amounting to Tk 63.98 crore, with an EPS of Tk 3.88. BSCCL cited reduced revenue in IP Transit services and increased financial costs for the decline.
