The International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh (ICCB) reports that the interim government’s initiatives have led to positive economic effects, including increased remittances, improved foreign exchange reserves, reduced fuel prices, and accessible loans for the export sector. However, the ICCB raises concerns about ongoing unrest in the readymade garment (RMG) sector, resulting in estimated damages over Tk 5,000 crores and a production loss of $400 million. The chamber stresses the need for stability in the RMG sector to rebuild relationships with international buyers. Additionally, the ICCB commends the Anti-discrimination Students’ Movement for its role in fostering political change and democracy in Bangladesh.
