The International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICCB) has proposed six key reforms to enhance the country’s banking, tax, trade, and business sectors. These include ensuring the full autonomy of Bangladesh Bank, reducing non-performing loans, and implementing stringent measures against wilful defaulters. The ICCB also recommends expanding and digitalizing the taxation process, updating commercial laws to streamline international trade, and improving reliability in the energy sector by boosting local gas exploration. Additionally, the ICCB suggests strengthening Bangladesh’s diplomatic missions to support economic diplomacy and job creation.
