Around 200 officers and employees at IFIC Bank protested at the head office, demanding the resignation of the chairman, his son, and Beximco board directors. Their nine-point list includes reinstating all dismissed staff from the previous managing director’s tenure, compensating those past service age, and prosecuting the former managing director and his associates. They also seek reinstatement of employees forced to resign due to mental stress, promotion for long-unpromoted staff, replacing performance bonuses with annual profit bonuses, aligning benefits with Bangladesh Bank standards, merit-based promotions every five years, and firing corrupt officials. They demand strict measures against loan defaulters and a shift towards a staff-friendly and independent banking environment. Protests were also held at Social Islami Bank Limited for similar reinstatement demands.
