In an effort to promote Rabi crop cultivation, a total of 44,270 small and marginal farmers across eight upazilas in the district Jashore are set to receive free seeds and fertilizers. These incentives are part of an agricultural incentive and rehabilitation program for the Kharif season. Wheat farmers will receive 20 kg of wheat seed, 10 kg of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer, and 10 kg of muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer.
Maize farmers will get 2 kg of seed, 10 kg of DAP, and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer, while mustard farmers will receive 1 kg of seed, 10 kg of DAP, and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer. Onion, lentil, and sunflower farmers will also benefit from this initiative with specified allocations of seed and fertilizers. The distribution of these essential resources will be administered by the respective Upazila Agriculture Offices, and it is expected that this support will incentivize farmers to engage in increased Rabi crop cultivation.
