The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) experienced a lower opening as selling pressure impacted share prices on September 24, 2023. The DSEX, DSE’s benchmark index, dropped by 1.53 points, with a total turnover exceeding Tk152 crore. The DSE Shariah index also declined by 1.51 points, while the DS-30, representing blue-chip stocks, increased by 2.40 points. Among the traded stocks, 54 saw gains, 92 declined, and 98 remained unchanged. Notable gainers included Union Insurance, leading the list with a 9.94% increase to Tk75.2 per share, followed by Paramount Insurance, rising by 5.27% to Tk73.9 per share, and Karnaphuli Insurance, which saw a 4.67% increase to Tk40.3 per share. This data reflects the ongoing dynamics and fluctuations in the Dhaka stock market.
