Bangladesh’s total internet user base has reached 130.94 million, as reported by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). Within this figure, 118.79 million users accessed the internet via mobile devices, while 12.15 million utilized broadband connections.
The country’s mobile sector has experienced notable growth, adding over 7 million new subscribers in the first seven months of the year, bringing the total mobile subscriber count to 187.48 million. Bangladesh is home to four mobile operators, with three of them being foreign-backed companies. Specifically, the subscriber counts for these mobile operators at the end of July are as follows: Grameenphone with 81.89 million subscribers, Robi Axiata with 56.82 million, Banglalink with 42.30 million, and Teletalk with 6.47 million.
