The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) experienced a second day of modest increases. The DSEX, its benchmark index, edged up by 4.3 points to settle at 6,305. General insurance stocks contributed 34.6% of the entire turnover, which climbed by 26.7% to Tk 663 crore.
General insurance stocks contributed 34.6%, followed by food and allied products at 15.2% and life insurance at 6.8 %. Turnover climbed by 26.7% to Tk 663 crore. Fu Wang Food Ltd. was the most traded stock with a change of Tk 50 crore, followed by Continental Insurance Ltd. and Gemini Sea Food Ltd.
The market experienced mixed sectoral returns, while general insurance gained by 2.7%, followed by travel 2.4% and mutual funds 1.1%, life insurance 0.5%, and services 0.3%, while the paper sector faced the highest correction of 1.3%. Agrani Insurance Co. Ltd. was the top gainer, rising by 10%, while Fu Wang Food Ltd. was the worst performer, declining by 7.5%. Out of the 392 issues traded, 84 advanced, 73 declined, and 235 remained unchanged.
