Fresh protests have been ongoing in front of Islami Bank PLC since the resignation of Prime Minister Hasina. , the situation escalated when a deputy managing director and other officials attempted to enter the bank office but were blocked by protestors who claimed to be shareholders. The protestors alleged that five of their members sustained gunshot wounds during the unrest. The demonstrations began in response to grievances over the denial of benefits for over 15 years and demands for the resignation of all executives who joined the bank after the Salam Group forcibly took control in 2017.
