Japan has provided $3.2 million to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to improve the living conditions of Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char. The funds will be used for disaster risk reduction, shelter construction and renovation, protection, and skills development. This new funding brings Japan’s total contribution to the Rohingya crisis to over $220 million. Both Japan and IOM expressed their commitment to improving the lives of the affected populations and finding sustainable solutions to the crisis.
