Job Market for STEM Graduates Expected to Increase by 8%

Industry: Education
Economic Tag: Employment

A recent study forecasts an 8% increase in job opportunities for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) graduates by 2029, according to data from the USA-based Bureau of Labour Statistics (BLS). However, despite the growing IT sector in Bangladesh, women face significant barriers to employment in STEM fields, with only 14% representation. The SheSTEM Business Case study, launched in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, highlights the underrepresentation of women in STEM and its impact on inclusive economic development. The study surveyed 700 stakeholders and emphasized the need for greater gender equality in STEM education and employment.  The event was moderated by a business Consultant at LightCastle Partners.
