KDS Accessories recorded a 28% YoY decline in net profit, totaling Tk 35.48 million for the July-September quarter of FY2024. The reduced demand for its products contributed to this decrease, leading to a drop in earnings per share from Tk 0.70 to Tk 0.50. Revenue also fell by 23% YoY to Tk 589.77 million in the same quarter in 2022.
The decline is attributed to weakened demand for garment accessories and increased raw material costs amid the ongoing dollar crisis. Despite an 8% drop in net profit for FY2023, reaching Tk 153.20 million, the company improved its net operating cash flow per share to Tk 4.69 for the September quarter of 2023.
KDS Accessories, listed on the stock exchanges since October 2015, has faced share stagnation at Tk 77 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange since December 2022. The company, a major garment accessories producer in Bangladesh, serves prominent retailers such as WalMart, Tesco, and Decathlon.
