LankaBangla Foundation, in collaboration with the Rajshahi City Corporation, initiated a tree planting program in Nawdapara, Rajshahi. The event was inaugurated by the Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, and Managing Director and CEO of LankaBangla Finance PLC. The primary goal of this program is to promote voluntary tree planting to beautify the road from Shaheed A.H.M. Kamruzzaman Chattar to Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi City while increasing the country’s forest resources and environmental balance.
In the initial phase, LankaBangla Foundation provided 12,312 saplings of various species to Rajshahi City Corporation for planting along the road. The program aims to expand and cover the entire 8.5-kilometer stretch in phases. This initiative aligns with the vision of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to create a greener Bangladesh by encouraging everyone to plant at least one sapling and care for it. LankaBangla Foundation conducts such tree planting programs across the country as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to contribute to environmental conservation and biodiversity.
