Rajshahi and Dinajpur are known for litchi cultivation, with Ishwardi being acclaimed for its delicious fruit. It has become the litchi capital with extensive commercial orchards, and the number of trees is increasing due to profitable farming. Despite challenges like scorching heat, litchis are traded in large quantities to other regions, and local markets are still well-supplied. Prices range from Tk 250-300 for local variety, Tk 350-400 for other varieties, and Tk 450-500 for the aristocratic Bedana variety. Traders have purchased orchards with different litchi varieties and begun marketing them. Laborers are employed for harvesting and transportation, and farmers are delighted with bumper yields.
