The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a significant price increase for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The price of a 12kg LPG cylinder will rise by Tk 144, resulting in a new selling price of Tk 1,284, up from Tk 1,140. This change takes effect from the third of September 2023, as confirmed by the BERC Chairman. The price adjustment will also impact LPG cylinders ranging from 5.5kg to 45kg. Additionally, the per kg price of LPG will be set at Tk 107.01, while the price for LPG used in vehicles will be Tk 58.87 per liter. Business professionals should monitor this development closely, as it could have implications for their operational costs and pricing strategies in the energy sector.
