The Managing Director of Uttara Bank PLC announced plans to purchase 50,000 shares of the bank at the prevailing market price via the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Listed in 1984, Uttara Bank has an authorized capital of Tk 1,500 crore and a paid-up capital of Tk 825.76 crore, with reserves of Tk 1,452.35 crore. The bank has 82.57 crore shares, with 30.57% held by sponsor-directors, 30.01% by institutional investors, 0.41% by foreign investors, and 39% by general investors. For the fiscal year 2023, the bank declared a 30% dividend, comprising 17.50% cash and 12.50% stock. The bank’s EPS for 2023 was Tk 4.32, up from Tk 3.69 the previous year, and its NAV per share was Tk 31.04, compared to Tk 27.88 in 2022. The previous year’s dividend was 28%, with an EPS of Tk 4.20 and a NAV of Tk 31.79. On the DSE, the bank’s share price closed at Tk 20.50.
