Minori Bangladesh to Sell 46.66 Lakh Shares in Emerald Oil

Minori Bangladesh, the parent company of Emerald Oil Industries, has announced plans to sell 46.66 lakh shares, equivalent to a 7.81% stake in Emerald Oil Industries, to provide the company with a loan aimed at improving its financial health. This decision follows the approval of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). Minori Bangladesh will extend an interest-free loan to Emerald Oil Industries after selling the shares.

At the current market price of Tk74.5 per share, the value of the shares to be sold amounts to approximately Tk35 crore. Minori Bangladesh currently holds a 38.26% stake in Emerald Oil Industries, of which 7.81% will be sold through the stock exchange in compliance with listing rules. The new sponsors and directors are required to maintain ownership of over 30% of the mandatory shareholdings.
