Motorola Partners with Edison Group to Assemble Smartphones

Edison Group has signed an agreement with international mobile brand Motorola to locally manufacture new handsets in Bangladesh. Motorola will be utilizing the mobile factory, Edison Industries, of Edison Group to assemble their smartphones. Edison Group will also be Motorola’s partner in Bangladesh.

Previously, the online shopping platform Salextra has been the national distributor of Motorola in Bangladesh. During the signing ceremony, Motorola also unveiled two new smartphones to their lineup: the E32 and E22s. Both phones will feature a 6.5-inch HD+ punch-hole display, 90Hz refresh rate, 5000 mAh battery, and 2.3 GHz octa-core processor. E32 will have a 50 MP main, 2 MP depth, and 8 MP front camera setup while the E22s will have a 16 MP PDAF rear camera. The smartphones will be available in two colors: Eco Black and Arctic Blue. The E32 will cost Tk. 15,999 and the E22s will cost Tk. 14,999. This collaboration is expected to create job opportunities in the country and reduce the import of foreign smartphones.
