Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury has been appointed as director and chairman of Sonali Bank for a three-year term, according to a recent Financial Institutions Division circular. Chowdhury, who previously served as the comptroller and auditor general of Bangladesh and secretary to the Finance Division, fills the position left vacant after the resignation of Ziaul Hasan Siddiqui on August 5. Chowdhury holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in commerce from the University of Chittagong and a Master of Science in finance and accounting with distinction from the University of Birmingham.
