Nahar Agro plans to invest Tk150 crore to expand its poultry business and enter the egg market with around 10 lakh daily supply by 2025. The farm, which currently produces nearly 2.5 lakh hatching eggs a day, aims to fill the gap in production and reduce prices. The company aims to supply two lakh eggs per day by 2024 increasing to 10 lakhs by 2025. The expansion plan will create around 1,000 new jobs and produce 50–60 tonnes of environmentally friendly biofertilizer per day.
Nahar Agro has already taken initiatives to import modern machinery and establish new farms in phases. The company plans to incorporate modern technologies in its egg production, such as automatic systems for brooding, egg collection, drinking, and feeding facilities. Nahar Agro has a 37-year history of successful agro-business, employing over 2,500 people and producing top-quality day-old chicks, poultry and fish feed, dairy, and horticulture products.
