NGO Vanishes with Tk 5 Crore

Industry: NGO, NGO & Development

A non-governmental organization, Exceptional Small Business Co-operative Society Limited, is under scrutiny as its officials disappeared, leaving behind unpaid depositors. More than a hundred depositors gathered in front of the NGO’s office, demanding the return of their money and the prosecution of the managing director. The NGO, approved by the upazila Samabay office in 2019, had been operating from the managing director’s residence, attracting around Tk 5 crore in deposits from 139 people. Victims, devastated by the loss of their savings, have filed complaints with authorities, seeking redress and reimbursement. Police have assured necessary actions, and legal measures are being pursued against the NGO.
