Nike and Adidas Set to Open Showrooms in Dhaka

Industry: Lifestyle, Lifestyle & Fashion

Exciting news for sneaker lovers and sports enthusiasts in Dhaka as global sportswear giants Nike and Adidas are set to open showrooms in the city within the next two months. DBL Group, the company that introduced Puma to Dhaka in 2019, will facilitate this move.

According to MA Rahim Feroz, Vice Chairman of DBL Group, an agreement has been signed with Adidas, and their store in Gulshan will open in October. The contract with Nike has also been finalized, with their store scheduled to open in November. The entry of these renowned brands reflects their confidence in Bangladesh’s growth prospects. With approximately 35 million affluent and middle-class consumers, Bangladesh offers a promising market.

The prices of Adidas and Nike products in Bangladesh have been high due to import taxes and duties. Reducing these taxes could result in more competitive pricing. Local brands in Bangladesh face challenges in terms of product quality and innovation. The arrival of Nike and Adidas showrooms in Dhaka has garnered positive reception among the upper middle class and upper-class buyers. It will provide convenience and reduce the need for overseas purchases.
