Bangladesh and Oman are set to sign two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in the areas of human resources, refined oil derivatives, and fertilizer export. The announcement was made by the Oman Ambassador during an event in Dhaka celebrating Oman’s 53rd National Day.
Despite the recent temporary suspension of visas for Bangladeshi citizens to Oman due to an oversupply of workers, the ambassador emphasized the move is not political and expressed confidence in the reinforcement of bilateral ties. Earlier this year (2023), Oman signed an agreement to supply Bangladesh with liquefied natural gas, showcasing the countries’ resilient relations. The ambassador also condemned Israeli atrocities in Gaza, urging global leaders to end the occupation for a two-state solution.
