Bangladeshi industrial conglomerate, Orion Group, has introduced the global SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in its power and home appliance divisions, marking the first use of SAP ERP in the country’s power sector. The ERP system will provide real-time data from key departments, aiding decision-making. Orion’s IT team, with support from PwC Bangladesh, prepared the system, aiming to transform core processes and ensure adaptability to changes. The move towards a paperless digital office will enable data accuracy and efficient management across nine concerns in the power sector and home appliances division.

The ERP implementation is a significant step towards enhancing Orion Group’s operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making capabilities. With real-time data accessibility, the company expects to take prompt and informed measures in coordination with management. The success of this initial rollout could lead to expanding the ERP system’s usage across other business units.
