PHP Family, a leading industrial group in Bangladesh, is enhancing the country’s solar energy sector by installing solar panels on the roofs of its textile and steel mills to generate its own electricity. In the first phase, solar panels with a capacity of 1,740 kilowatts will be installed in one textile and one steel mill. These panels are expected to produce around 2,000 megawatts of electricity annually, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 1,100 tonnes. The company plans to expand the installation of solar panels across its other facilities, aiming to meet a significant portion of its electricity demand through renewable energy. This initiative has been welcomed by renewable energy experts as it contributes to reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change. Solar energy, as an environmentally friendly power source, plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable industrial growth.
