During a seminar at Hotel Le Meridien, Dhaka, experts emphasized the necessity of proactive security measures in the face of growing cyber threats as Bangladesh’s power sector undergoes a transformation with increased connectivity and the adoption of advanced technologies like data centers, smart meters, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).
The event, organized by Hoplon Limited, centered on the findings from a recent study that assessed the cybersecurity preparedness of the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB). With the power sector becoming more interconnected and technologically advanced, the experts stressed the importance of robust cybersecurity measures to protect critical infrastructure and data from cyberattacks. As the sector continues to evolve, safeguarding against potential vulnerabilities becomes paramount to ensuring the reliability and security of the power supply.
