In the first 10 days of August, remittance inflows totaled approximately USD 482.77 million. Of this amount, USD 382.17 million was received between August 4 and 10, following the ousting of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. During the initial three days, remittances totaled USD 95.65 million, reflecting a period when remitters, in solidarity with the student movement, had declared they would not use official channels due to government actions against students. This amount increased fourfold in the subsequent seven days after the resignation of the government.
