The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has issued show-cause notices to Robi Axiata and Banglalink for failing to meet the quality of service benchmarks set by the regulator. This action follows a similar notice to GP on June 30 regarding unused spectrum affecting service quality. Banglalink emphasized its investment in network expansion and spectrum procurement, claiming to have provided the country’s fastest mobile internet for four consecutive years. Robi countered the notice, stating it exceeds the QoS standards according to BTRC and internal tests. Robi criticized the stringent interim QoS directive, arguing it creates confusion alongside existing regulations. They affirmed their commitment to meeting QoS requirements and planned to respond to BTRC to clarify their stance on the matter.
