Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Ltd (RPGCL) is reissuing a tender for a spot LNG cargo due to the previous one being canceled over high pricing. The tender is for the delivery of LNG to the Moheshkhali floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) on October 11-12, 2023. Bidders had offered a rate of around $16 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), which the evaluation committee deemed excessive. RPGCL had previously awarded two spot LNG cargo tenders to France’s TotalEnergies and Singapore’s Vitol Asia for deliveries in September and October. TotalEnergies will provide LNG at $13.77 per MMBtu, while Vitol Asia will supply LNG at $14.90 per MMBtu. Bangladesh is increasing its LNG imports to meet growing demand, despite payment delays to suppliers.
