Runner Automobiles has been downgraded to the ‘Z’ category by Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges for failing to pay cash dividends for FY22 on time. The company had recommended a 10% cash dividend for FY22 but did not declare any for FY23. While general shareholders were paid, dividends for sponsor shareholders remain pending due to a working capital shortage. The issue arose from increased costs related to a 100% margin requirement for letters of credit. Following a Tk 879.90 million loss in FY23, the company saw fluctuating earnings in FY24, with a brief positive EPS in October-December.
