Mokam CPG, the FMCG distribution unit of ShopUp, Bangladesh’s largest B2B commerce platform, has reported an operating profit of BDT 20 crores for the first eleven months of FY2023-24. From July 2023 to May 2024, Mokam CPG generated over BDT 1800 crores in revenue and is projected to surpass BDT 2000 crores by fiscal year-end, reflecting a 70% year-over-year growth. This marks the first instance of a B2B startup of this scale achieving profit before tax (PBT) positivity in such a short period within Southeast Asia.
Key factors contributing to Mokam’s success include data-driven decision-making, which improved inventory efficiency by 35%, and the expertise of industry-specific top talents enhancing strategic planning and negotiation. Gross margins have also increased by 195%, with expectations of tripling year-over-year.
