Singer Bangladesh has opened a new home appliances plant in the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone (BSEZ) in Araihazar, Narayanganj, as part of its expansion strategy to boost local manufacturing. The project, approved by the board on March 30, 2022, involved an investment of Tk 603.89 crore, with Tk 580.33 crore allocated for machinery and plant construction. The new plant aims to improve production efficiency and meet the growing demand for home appliances in Bangladesh. Singer has already begun production at the plant, and a resolution will be proposed at the annual general meeting (AGM) on April 22, 2025, to formalize the investment and add assets worth Tk 603.89 crore to the company’s financial statements. This expansion is expected to increase production capacity, reduce reliance on imports, and contribute to the government’s industrial growth initiatives in economic zones.
