South Korea has officially committed to a new public-private partnership (PPP) initiative involving water supply from the Meghna River to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, the country’s largest industrial city in the southeast. This project marks the fifth under the government-to-government (G2G) PPP framework between South Korea and Bangladesh, following investments in rail, road, and power sectors totaling around $10 billion. While the final cost is pending, the feasibility study for the water supply project is ongoing. The successful collaboration and progress on existing projects were discussed during the 5th joint platform meeting in Dhaka, emphasizing mutual cooperation to ensure successful infrastructure development.
