The Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica) has proposed providing Tk100 crore in financial aid to Bangladesh for enhancing skilled worker development. This assistance is intended for modernizing the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre in Chattogram and fostering demand-driven skilled manpower. The State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment expressed approval of Koica’s proposal during a meeting with their delegation in Dhaka. Emphasizing the importance of Korea’s support, he highlighted that this cooperation will upgrade technical training facilities, making them more contemporary and effective in enhancing Bangladesh’s workforce capabilities. Koica, established in 1991 as a government agency, aims to enhance South Korea’s development aid impact through grant aid and technical cooperation initiatives for developing countries.
