Soybean Oil and Sugar Prices Trimmed by Tk5

Industry: Commodity, Consumer & Retail

Soybean oil prices in Bangladesh have decreased by Tk 5 per liter to Tk 174, while sugar prices have also been reduced by Tk 5 per kg to Tk 130. The adjustments are in response to falling global edible oil prices and reduced production costs. Loose soybean oil will now cost Tk 154 per liter, and a 5-liter jar will be priced at Tk 850. The changes, effective from Monday, were announced by the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association and the Bangladesh Sugar Refiners Association. The move comes after a previous reduction in mid-July and follows discussions with the Commerce Ministry and Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission.
