SS Steel Limited is set to acquire the fixed assets of Super Steel Limited and Peninsula Steel Mills Limited, with a total estimated value of Tk130 crore. The acquisition includes lands, steel structure sheds, buildings, machinery, and utility connections.
This move aligns with SS Steel’s commitment to enhancing production capacity, contributing 62,400 metric tons of MS rods per year. Following previous acquisitions in 2020 and 2022, SS Steel anticipates its annual capacity to reach 442,800 metric tons of MS rods and its annual revenue to hit nearly Tk3,000 crore in FY 2024. The company plans to finance the acquisition through retained earnings and loans. SS Steel’s chairman emphasizes the strategic focus on increasing production capacity for sustained business growth.
As of FY 2022–23, the company’s liabilities stand at Tk974 crore, raising concerns from the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission. SS Steel shares closed at Tk16.6 each at the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
