On September 5th, 2023, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a significant increase in turnover value, reaching Tk734 crore, marking a 27% rise compared to the previous session. The DSEX concluded the session with a gain of 9 points, closing at 6,317 points. The DS30, tracking blue-chip stocks, saw a 0.71-point increase to reach 2,144 points, while the shariah-compliant stocks’ index, DSES, inched up by 0.05 points, closing at 1,372 points.
Of all the traded stocks, 89 advanced, 68 declined, and 183 remained unchanged. Notable gainers included Eastern Insurance Company with a 10% increase, Aziz Pipes with a 9.98% rise, and Information Services Network, up by 9.88%. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also reported positive trends. This uptick reflects a rebound in investor sentiment as they capitalized on the opportunity to acquire oversold shares after previous sell-offs.
