Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) experienced a positive opening, with investors showing increased activity following the previous session’s sell-offs. The DSE’s broad-based index, DSEX, rose by 12 points to reach 6,296. Simultaneously, the blue-chip index DS30 increased by 0.39 points, reaching 2,139 points, and the Shariah-compliant stocks’ index, DSES, went up by 0.36 points, reaching 1,361 points. The total turnover in DSE amounted to Tk315 crore during this time frame.
Market data showed that among the traded stocks, 79 advanced, 61 declined, and 129 remained unchanged. Notable gainers included Eastern Insurance Company, which gained 10%, followed by Janata Insurance Company with a 9.98% increase and United Insurance Company with a 9.82% rise.
Positive trends extended to the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE), suggesting a broader optimism among investors in the Bangladeshi stock market. The increase in indices and notable gains in insurance companies reflect investors’ willingness to capitalize on oversold shares and potential opportunities in the market.
