The government is considering offering tax rebates on deposits for the Universal Pension Scheme to encourage greater investment in the program. The National Pension Authority has requested action from the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to implement this incentive. Once approved, individuals depositing funds into the scheme will receive a government-determined rebate on their applicable taxes. The chairman of the National Pension Authority, expects the NBR to approve the request soon. As of September 17, approximately 12,970 people have registered for the Universal Pension Scheme, which offers four different categories: Probash, Pragati, Surokkha, and Samata.
