Efforts are underway to sell Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) products through permanent shops in the next fiscal year, aiming to make them accessible to common people. Additionally, plans are in place to offer TCB products to the mid-income group at affordable prices. The government aims to create a buffer stock of TCB products to control essential prices and has signed agreements with Russia, with efforts ongoing for similar deals with other countries. Around one crore beneficiary families will receive subsidized essential items: 5 kilograms of rice at Tk 30/kg, 2 liters of soya bean oil at Tk 100/liter, 2 kilograms of lentil at Tk 60/kg, and 1 kilogram of sugar at Tk 70/kg, totaling Tk 540 per package. The Directorate General of Food is procuring rice and paddy to stabilize rice prices. Commerce secretary and TCB chairman attended the event.
