TECNO Unveils CAMON 20 and CAMON 20 Pro Smartphones

Ali Reza Iftekhar, managing director and CEO of Eastern Bank PLC, has been awarded the "C-Suite CEO of the Year 2024" in the Financial Institutions category at the Bangladesh C-Suite Awards 2024.

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL), in partnership with Mastercard, has relaunched its popular Mastercard Aqua Prepaid Card at its Gulshan head office. The redesigned ergonomic vertical card includes enhanced features like the Mastercard Flight Delay Pass, offering added benefits for travelers.

AB Bank has launched a new internet banking app, "AB Direct," allowing customers to access banking services anytime, anywhere. Additionally, the bank introduced four new products: AB Ilham, an Islamic Shariah-based deposit with attractive profits; AB Amani, a Shariah-based deposit for women offering insurance coverage; AB Shasando, a current account with interest and overdraft facilities for salaried individuals; and the Kotipoti Deposit Scheme, which enables depositors to plan their savings to become millionaires.

Bangladesh ranks lowest among 12 surveyed low- and middle-income countries in smartphone ownership and mobile internet usage, according to the GSMA's State of Mobile Internet Connectivity 2024 report. Smartphone ownership stands at 41% in urban areas and 26% in rural regions, with mobile internet usage slightly higher at 43% and 27%, respectively.
