Two Bangladeshi startups, Tiger New Energy and iFarmer, have been featured on Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch list for 2024, which highlights innovative companies from 16 countries across 10 industries. Tiger New Energy, founded in 2022, specializes in battery-swapping technology for electric vehicles and has established over 100 battery-swapping stations in Bangladesh. It has received substantial investment, including $1 million from ADB Ventures in June 2024 and $2.5 million in seed funding from Wavemaker Partners in 2023. iFarmer, founded in 2019, is an agritech platform connecting small farmers with wholesalers and providing access to essential agricultural inputs. The startup raised $2.1 million in 2022, led by IDLC Ventures, solidifying its position in Bangladesh’s agricultural sector. The Forbes list, now in its fourth year, recognizes fast-growing companies that have collectively raised over $2 billion in investment, showcasing their growth and innovation in diverse sectors like manufacturing, agriculture, fintech, and healthcare.
