In the recently proposed budget for the fiscal year 2023-24, the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry has been allocated Tk 4,240 crore by the government. Finance Minister presented this allocation during the budget session in parliament on June 1st. In comparison, the ministry had a proposed budget of Tk 3,808 crore for the previous fiscal year 2022-23.
Furthermore, the finance minister recommended the inclusion of the Shrimp Hatchery Association of Bangladesh (SHAB) in the existing notification concerning the import of raw materials for poultry, dairy, and fish feed production. He also suggested making necessary amendments to the notification based on the recommendations provided by field offices and stakeholders. These proposals aim to support and enhance the fisheries and livestock sector in Bangladesh.
