United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) recently organized a day-long skill development training session for approximately 200 selected agri-entrepreneurs from 6 upazilas of Kushtia district. The event, held at the District Shilpakala Academy’s auditorium, aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills for agricultural success. During the training, notable figures including experts from BTV’s agriculture-based show and representatives from various agricultural departments shared insights on crop cultivation, seed selection, pricing strategies, and marketing techniques.
The focus was on empowering farmers to transition into successful entrepreneurs within the agricultural sector.UCB’s initiative, named ‘Bhoroshar Notun Janala’, seeks to boost commercial agriculture and ensure food security. The project aims to facilitate easy access to loans for farmers, enabling them to produce and market crops effectively. Under this project, UCB has been conducting similar training programs across 64 districts of Bangladesh, with a focus on developing business acumen and technical skills among agri-entrepreneurs. After the training, participants received valuable gifts such as high-quality vegetable seeds and fertilizers, further supporting their agricultural endeavors.
