UN Women BD Calls for Increased Investments in Prevention Programming

UN Women Bangladesh hosted a learning and sharing event at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center that emphasized the importance of preventing violence against women (VAW) by investing in relevant areas.

The Combating Gender-Based Violence (CGBV) project, which received funding from the Government of Canada, demonstrated significant results in promoting institutional and behavioral change through extensive research, monitoring, impact evaluation, and innovative approaches. Participants highlighted the importance of transformation and cost-efficiency of prevention programming based on global data. The event showcased valuable insights and experiences gained throughout the duration of the CGBV project, including the institutionalization of the Zero Tolerance to Sexual Harassment policy in 12 public and private workplaces, and the establishment of 15 Complaint Committees in educational, public, and private institutions.
