UNICEF Bangladesh, in collaboration with Grameenphone and Telenor, has signed an agreement to launch a program aimed at enhancing digital literacy among over 1 crore students in Bangladesh. The initiative, titled ‘Strengthening digital literacy for children in Bangladesh and safe, ethical, and responsible use of digital technology,’ will prioritize supporting 1 million children and provide cyber security training for 6 million students. Additionally, it will engage 25,000 teachers and 2 million parents .
CEO of Grameenphone, highlighted the importance of incorporating online safety and digital literacy into education, aiming to create a secure future for children. Head of Sustainability at Telenor Asia, emphasized the significance of digital skills and online security in unlocking connectivity opportunities. UNICEF and Grameenphone have been working together since 2019, focusing on developing teenagers as digital influencers for their communities. This program exemplifies their dedication to youth empowerment and protection in the digital age, reflecting the strong partnership between Grameenphone and Telenor.
