Sheikh Zahidul Islam and Md Humayun Kabir have been elected as the new chairmen of the Audit Committee and Risk Management Committee, respectively, at Union Bank PLC. The appointments were made during the inaugural meeting of the bank’s reconstituted Board of Directors, led by Chairman Md. Fariduddin Ahmed.
Sheikh Zahidul Islam, with an MBA in finance from Dhaka University’s IBA, brings extensive audit experience from roles at Social Islami Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, and Al-Arafah Islami Bank. He has trained at prominent institutions including Bangladesh Bank and ICAB.
Md Humayun Kabir, holding an MSc from Dhaka University and an MBA from the University of New Orleans, previously served as an Executive Director at Bangladesh Bank. His career includes key positions across various Bangladesh Bank departments and training from BBTA, BIBM, and international institutions.
